untuk memastikan website online. Bila hasilnya website online/OK dan anda tidak dapat akses ke website, kemungkinan IP ISP yang anda gunakan ter-blokir firewall pada server. Karena beberapa sebab, pengunjung tidak dapat melakukan akses ke website karena IP yang digunakan ter-blokir oleh firewall pada server. Sebab utama IP berada pada firewall antara lain karena:

Gagal login (kemungkinan user dan atau password salah). Gagal login mencakup login cpanel, ftp, email, dll.

untuk alasan tertentu, IP awal kmi ganti dengn xx.

Guna menghindari IP anda masuk firewall pada server, pastikan:
- user dan password tepat
- gunakan smtp authenticaion (setting pada email client)
- script pada website berfungsi baik
- periksa komputer dari kemungkinan virus, spyware, dll.

Perlu menjadi catatan, tools diatas (siteuptime, host-tracker, alertra.com dan lainnya) terkadang memberikan laporan yang tidak akurat bila digunakan pada website dengan server hosting yang berlokasi di Indonesia.

Verisign, pemegang control domain name .com (juga .net dan beberapa lainnya), telah memberikan infomasi jauh hari sebelumnya kepada para registrar (perusahaan yang menjual domain name kepada pembeli akhir/end users) bahwa harga jual domain name naik 7% pada 1 Oktober 2008. Biaya domain bagi registrar akan menjadi $7.06 ($ 6.86 Verisign + $0.20 ICANN). Lihat:

Kenaikan ini menyebabkan para registrar menaikkan harga 10% hingga 12% per tahun. Bila biaya yang dikeluarkan bagi registrar sebesar $7.06 maka tambahan keuntungan mnimal 10% akan menyebabkan harga jual kepada end user berada pada kisaran $7.7. Harga jual terbawah bagi registrar, misalnya directi pada level $9.49 dan onlinenic $8.89 atau dengan kurs Rp. 11.400 (kurs saat tulisan ini dibuat) menjadi Rp. 108.186 (directi) dan Rp. 101.346.

Bila para reseller akan menjual domain, maka harga wajar juga harus baik 10% (mencakup biaya overhead cost dan keuntungan). Dengan mengambil harga kisaran Rp. 100.000 per domain maka biaya jual dengan keuntungan 10% menjadi Rp. 110.000. Harga inilah yang menjadi pertimbangan kami

Sesuai dengan persetujuan bersama antara ICANN dan Verisign, disepakati juga akan ada kenaikan harga setiap tahun sebesar 7%. Lihat:

SMTP Problem saat pengiriman.

Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, anda harus melakukan configurasi email client (outlook, dll.) menggunakan authentication smtp server dengan memilih “My server requires authentication” pada box pilih configurasi di email client anda.

Berikut tutorial dalam bahasa Inggris:
Error 503: Valid RCPT command must precede DATA

This means you must check your email before trying to send mail meaning that our mail server requires authentication, which can be achieved using one of these methods:

A) Pop before smtp — check your email for new mail before trying to send email. This adds your IP address to a relayhosts file and allows any email to be sent from that IP address for up to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes you have to authenticate again.

B) Configure your email client to authenticate automatically by checking the “my server requires authentication” box in your email configuration. You will be able to send mail without having to “pop” your mail box first.

If using MS Outlook, please try the following:

1) Open outlook
2) Go to Tools/Email Accounts
3) Select the Account with the trouble and click Change
4) Click on More Settings
5) Click on Outgoing Server Tab
6) Click “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) requires authentication” and make sure
“Use same settings as incoming mail server” is selected (see attached image)
7) Click on “Advanced Tab”
Set outgoing Port (SMTP) to 26 (if your hosting account is Linux) or 587
if your hosting account is Windows.
9) Click Ok and then Test Account Settings

If it fails on send then repeat starting from 7.

7) Click on Advanced Tab
Set outgoing Port (SMTP) to 465 (See attached)
9) Check the box Beside “The server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”.
10 ) Click ok and then Test Account Settings
